Day 1:  From Café Caliente at 32nd and Meade St in Denver Colorado, take 32nd Ave east to Speer Blvd.  Turn right (east) onto Speer Blvd.  Speer Blvd will merge with 1st Ave at University Blvd.  Continue east on 1st Ave.  1st Ave will wrap south, become Steele St and then wrap east again, becoming Alameda St.  Continue east on Alameda St to Leetsdale Dr/Highway 83.  Turn slight right (southeast) onto Leetsdale Dr/Highway 83.  Leetsdale Dr will become Parker Rd/Highway 83.  Continue southeast on Highway 83, through Franktown Colorado and into Colorado Springs Colorado.  Highway 83 will merge with Interquest Parkway.  Shortly after this happens, turn left (south) Voyager Pkwy.  Continue south on Voyager Pkwy to Academy Blvd.  Turn left (south) onto Academy Blvd.  Continue south on Academy Blvd to Woodmen Rd.  Turn right (west) onto Woodmen Rd and continue a short distance to Corporate Dr.  Turn left (south) onto Corporate DrCorporate Dr will merge with Nevada Ave/Highway 85.  Continue south on Highway 85.  Highway 85 will merge with Highway 115.  Continue south on Highway 115 to Penrose Colorado.  At Penrose Colorado, turn left (east) onto US Highway 50.  Continue east on Highway 50, through Pueblo Colorado, through Rocky Ford Colorado and into La Junta Colorado.  At La Junta Colorado, turn right (south) on Highway 109.  Continue south for approximately 18 miles. 

 At this point, you will see a sign for Vogel Canyon on your right and a series of dirt roads.  These dirt roads will take you to Vogel Canyon where you can see the original wagon ruts of the Santa Fe Trail, Paleolithic rock drawings and dinosaur footprints.  Keep in mind that these roads are dirt, often covered with loose gravel and are open range so cattle are typically on the roadway. 

Day 2:  After exploring Vogel Canyon, continue south on Highway 109 through Cedar country toward Kim Colorado.  Just north of Kim Colorado (good gas stop), turn left (east) on Highway 160.  Continue east on Highway 160 to Springfield Colorado.  At Springfield, turn left (north) on Highway 287.  Continue north on Highway 287 through Fowler Colorado, Eads Colorado, Kit Carson Colorado to Limon Colorado.  At Limon Colorado, turn left (west) onto Highway 24.  Continue west on Highway 24 a short distance to Matheson Colorado.  At Matheson, turn right (north) on County Rd 149.  Take County Rd 149 north to Highway 86.  Turn left (west) on Highway 86.  Continue west on Highway 86 through Kiowa Colorado, Elizabeth Colorado and into Castle Rock Colorado.  At Castle Rock Colorado, turn right (north) on Highway 85/Santa Fe Dr.  Continue north on Santa Fe Dr, into Denver Colorado, and turn left (northwest) onto Speer Blvd.  Continue northwest on Speer Blvd to 32nd Ave.  Turn left (west) onto 32nd Ave and continue to Café Caliente at 32nd Ave and Meade St.
