Our Review: |
 |
|
This is a fun ride connecting Fort Collins and Loveland and a great way
to get from Fort Collins to Highway 34 (for a fun continuation onto
Estes
Park). Highway 14 is well traveled and utilized by tourists,
rafters, kayakers and mountain bikers and is useable almost year round.
This ride has many quick s-type turns and provides some nice scenery.
The road runs adjacent to the Cache la Poudre river and there are many
small campgrounds and pull offs to allow access to the river. Highway
14 does have a lot of traffic so keep your speed reasonable and beware
of side traffic when cruising through the trailheads and small towns.
After turning onto Stove Prairie road, the ride's mood changes a bit,
traffic disappears and the scenery becomes much more mountainous. Set
your mind in touring mode when taking this portion of the ride and
you'll have a great time. |

|
Every ride I take through Fort Collins has to include a trip to the
local Pickle Barrel
sandwich shop. If you have time, give it a try! |
